Tuesday, August 11th will be a day that two S&G students will remember for the rest of their lives. With Professor Jorge Gurgel in attendance, with Professor Stutzman and Black Belts Rich Ryu and Sean Gray, long time friends and teammates Gary Lowe and Ryan Thatcher were promoted to Black Belt! Gary and Ryan have been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 14 and 13 years respectively and we couldn’t be more impressed with their tenacity and commitment to their friends, their team, and BJJ. A few young up-and-comers were promoted to purple belt as well. Dan Lopez, Andrew Latimer, and Nate Stevens are making the step up to the big leagues. All three of them represent everything we could ever ask for in teammates: Consistency, Intensity, and Proficiency. Micah Craig was also promoted to blue belt Tuesday night. Micah has been training with us now for over a year and has been an active competitor this summer, doing very well in recent NAGA and AGC events!
I look forward to seeing everyone on the mats!
